This pendant lamp by Casa Padrino comes from a different world than crystal and gold. It follows the shape of an old workshop lamp: a heavy, bell-shaped metal shade, a sturdy carrying handle on top and four cross-shaped catches at the sides that would once have held the glass cylinder.

The surface is the real appeal. The metal carries a matt zinc finish with clouding and slight irregularities of the kind that build up over years. Nothing about it is high-gloss, and that is exactly what lets the lamp sit quietly next to exposed concrete, brick, reclaimed timber and leather.
